These two type pot is'nt your matter .

Both work as same .
First picture show basic pot or single turn
Second show the precision pot or multi turn .

Type 2 use for fine tuning pot position ( usualy 10 turn for full range tuning ) but not usualy use in md devices.

Can you give more information about your noise bproblem ( both side pcb pictures ... schamatic used for tl 12000 and etc )

2n5401 is a smal signal general propose pnp transistor and you can use any another pnp with same pin out
As same 2n3906 .... 2n4403 and etc

Your delay problem was made because one of your sampling block is out of renge

Capacitor value or resistore value for this block may be higher than normal condation.

We have not exact position for this pot

Its demand to system condation and must be adjust in board but some times we tuning in half step for starting point
